SARUSHIMA


I will introduce an uninhabited island "SARUSHIMA" in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
You buy a ticket to SARUSHIMA from Mikasa Terminal | SARUSHIMA Visitor Center in Mikasa Park and go by boat. The boat time is about 1 hour for both going back and forth, and the fee is 2000 yen for adults, 1750 yen for junior high school students, and 1000 yen for elementary school students, including the entrance fee and boarding fee.

If you live in Yokosuka City, the price will be cheaper by presenting an identification card with an address at the counter. It is 1000 yen for adults, 880 yen for junior high school students, and 500 yen for elementary school students. 
SARUSHIMA was a "fortress island" with a battery and ammunition depot as a key to protecting Tokyo Bay, so you can still see the historical heritage that remains today. You can see the barracks and the battery. Not only do you enjoy historical heritage, but you can also enjoy hiking and forest bathing because the nature is very rich. You can also enjoy the scenery on a high ground. You can also fish and barbecue in shallow waters.
You can eat rice in SARUSHIMA. The only takeout restaurant in SARUSHIMA, is "Ocean Kitchen". They sell snacks, sweets, soft drinks, and alcohol. You can eat meals made with vegetables and fish from Yokosuka and Miura cities in Kanagawa Prefecture. I orderd Yokosuka Naval Curry. It comes with milk. The price is 1200 yen.  My friend orderd Sajima / Misaki Kamaage Shirasu and Tuna Pickled Rice Bowl. This is also priced at 1200 yen. Other products also cost less than 1200 yen. There are potatoes and deep-fried food for refreshments. There are Yokosuka vegetable doughnuts and Monkey Churros for sweets. You can eat outside at a table with parasols, but there are some tables that don't have parasols, so please be careful of the kites a type of hawk, they may take your food.

In SARUSHIMA, there is a project based on the idea of SDGs. It is about balancing the environment and tourism. "Learning" is also added there, providing an opportunity for children and adults to think about the environment while enjoying sightseeing. Eco-energy, food loops and resource separation are actively carried out. Admission is also a source of financial resources for environment impovement.

If you stop by Yokosuka City, I recommend that you visit SARUSHIMA.

Nanashi Cafe

 I will introduce Nanashi Cafe in Yokosuka City , Kanagawa Prefecture. Nanashi Cafe is a 5-minute walk from Yokosuka Chuo Station.  Hot sandwiches are famous in Nanashi Cafe . They use barley bread. There are six flavors: ham cheese, egg, chicken, Soboro, Mexican and Butter Chicken curry. Mexican is a spicy dish of ground meat, cheese and lettuce with salsa sauce.  In addition to hot sandwiches, there are also taco rice, omlet rice, curry rice and fried chicken, as well as shake, ice cream and parfait for dessert. I ordered curry rice, strawberry shake and yogurt ice cream. Curry rice was a little spicy. The strawberry shake was very rich and delicious. The yogurt ice cream was refreshing and perfect for dessert after meals. I recommend the strawberry shake. Restaurant Don

  I will introduce  the  Restaurant Don   in   Yokosuka City , Kanagawa prefecture.  Restaurant Don  is located in Akiya in  Yokosuka City .  It is located by the sea, so you can eat while looking at the beautiful ocean from the restaurant. Depending on the time of day and the weather, you can see a beautiful sunset.  Restaurant Don  is divided into seats on the first floor and seats on the second floor, and you can eat main dishes such as tea and cake on the first floor, and hamburger steak and spaghetti on the second floor.  Also, if you want a terrace seat, you can use the terrace seat by talking to the staff.  If you have a terrace seat, you can eat with your pet.
